An endless list of books you should read - The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green
Is it weird that it bothers me that Hazel is always portrayed in fan art with her oxygen tube? I just like to think that her illness or anyone else’s for that matter, don’t define them. Her life does and Hazel’s (or anyone else’s) wasn’t about her cancer. It was about the adventures, thoughts, and feelings she had.

This is what a model looks like before and after her image is Photoshopped for a final magazine cover. Melissa Cowan is absurdly beautiful as it’s sad that Cosmo really thought she needed these “improvements”.
Notice how Cowan’s skin has been cleaned up, how her teeth have been whitened and her smile made smaller. Her hair style has been lightened to blonde and her eyes made bluer. The entire image has been re-framed to reveal more of her chest as well, not to mention the change in attire. So if you ever wondered why so many women have poor self images, look no further. The image they’re sold is a special effect, not a woman.
